PURPOSE:To obtain a document generating device which can flexibly be applied to document generation. CONSTITUTION:This device provided with a terminal input/output device kind deciding means 24 which decides the kinds of connected terminal input/output devices, a data input library 25 and a data output library 26 containing process routines corresponding to the kinds of documents and the kinds of the terminal input/output devices, a library selecting means 27 which selects a process routine among the stored process routines on the basis of the decision result of the terminal input/output device kind deciding means, a document layout data storage means which stores document layout data corresponding to the kinds of the documents, a document generating program storage means 32 which stores a document generating program, an editing means which performs input/output processes for data corresponding to the areas of the documents by using the process routine selected by the library selecting means, and an editing control means 30 which controls the reading of various data required for the generation of the document from the document layout data storage means and document generating program storage means. |
