<p>A height control valve (10) for controlling the height of an air spring is disclosed, wherein the controlled height of the air spring can be easily adjusted. The height control valve comprises an interior bore (14) in communication with an inlet port (16), an exhaust port (18) and an air spring port (20). A hollow piston (74) is movable within the valve bore in response to changes in the height of an air spring. A sealing member (60) is biased onto a valve seat (61) to seal the inlet port (16), and an open end (76) of the piston (74) abuts the sealing member to seal the exhaust port (18). Movement of the piston (74) toward the sealing member (60) disengages the sealing member (60) from its valve seat (61), placing the spring port (20) into communication with the inlet port (16). Axial movement of the piston (74) away from the disk valve (60) places the spring port (20) into communication with the exhaust port (18) through the interior (86) of the piston (74). The controlled height of the air spring is adjusted by adjusting the axial position of the seat (61) within the valve bore (14).</p> |
