PURPOSE:To make a remote control device compact without increasing the number of operation elements by reading out code data from a storage part based on a detection result obtained by detecting the operation time of an operation element and the operated operation element and generating a remote control signal. CONSTITUTION:A remote controller 10 is constituted of a key code table 14 storing code data corresponding to the depressing operation of a key switch in an operation part and a CPU 12 for reading out key code data from the table 14 based on a detection result obtained by detecting the depression time of the key switch and the operated key switch and generating a remote control signal. When the key switch in the remote controller 10 is depressed, the CPU 12 detects the depressing operation through a key matrix 11. The key code of the depressing operation detected by the CPU 12 is previously stored in the table 14 to be a storage part together with other key codes. Thereby the remote control device can be made compact without increasing the number of switches. |
