<p>A high-precision drive motor (1) comprises a drive cylinder (2) which has a first cylindrical contact surface (8) and a driven cylinder (3) which has a second cylindrical contact surface (9) of a slightly different circumference to that of the first surface (8). The drive cylinder (2) is mounted by means of a plurality of controllable length struts (4) so as to be displaceable around a central axis (7). The struts (4) are arranged to be driven such that the first surface (8) comes into pressure contact with the second surface (9) at a single location (6) which rotates around the axis (7) when the struts (4) are cyclically driven, thereby causing the driven cylinder (3) to rotate.</p> |
