The inention relates to a process and an apparatus for cleaning installations in milking systems which, arranged in particular as collecting chambers, milk meters and fittings, are included in the operating process of such systems, the object of the invention being to clean and disinfect homogeneously all surface areas of all the parts, including the installations of milk meters or other arrangements which are complicated to clean, fully of the cleaning fluid in the milk channel of the milking system by a non-uniformly moving cleaning and disinfecting medium. The object is achieved according to the invention in that the installations are temporarily removed from the cleaning and disinfecting circuit of the milking system, shut off and flooded, from their upper side, with the cleaning medium and, during the flooding, a gaseous medium is fed, from their underside, to the cleaning medium, the media being brought into a state of turbulence and, during the period in which the installations are released from the flushing circuit, the circulation of the cleaning and disinfecting medium through the milking system being maintained via the bypass for the cutting-off duration. It falls within the context of the invention that, in the apparatus, a changeover valve with a control chamber is assigned to a milk meter, which valve makes it possible, by opening and closing its parts designed as further chambers, ... a fed cleaning and ...
