A method and apparatus is disclosed for organizing information within place objects and displaying the place objects to a user. A place object is created to contain other objects that refer to persons, things and other places. A created place object can then be accessed by a multitude of users. Accordingly, the present invention enables users who have accessed a place object to organize information in a display system and communicate with other users.
