PURPOSE:To make a rat race ring hybrid in a wide frequency band and to obtain easily a desired characteristic by connecting a rat race ring in a multistaged way. CONSTITUTION:Four units of the 1st-fourth terminals 1-4 are installed which form loops at the 1st and 2nd rat race rings 9 and 10. A tangent line 5 connecting said terminals 1 and 2 is set to a length of lambda/4 with respect to a central frequency, and its characteristic impedance is set to a value as large as 0.9-1.3 times a terminal input impedance. Moreover a connecting line 6 between the terminal 1-3 is set in a length of lambda/4, with its characteristic impedance set to a value as large as 2-4 times the terminal input impedance,a nd the length and the characteristic impedance of a connecting line 7 between the terminals 3 and 4 are equal to those of the line 5. Furthermore the length of a connecting line 8 between the terminals 2 and 4 and its input terminal impedance are set to 3lambda/4 and two-four times the input terminal impedance, respectively. The group of the terminals 2 and 1 of the rat race ring 9 is connected to that of the terminals 3 and 4 of the rat race ring 10 whereby the characteristic of a circuit is made into a wide frequency band. |
