PURPOSE:To obtain a polyphenylene sulfide monofilament with sufficient strength and elongation by specifying the melt flow rate of a polyphenylene sulfide and an amount of a poly-1,4-cyclohexanedimethylene terephthalate/ isophthalate copolymer added. CONSTITUTION:The melt flow rate of a polyphenylene sulfide having constituent units containing >=85mol% p-phenylene sulfide unit is <=200, preferably <=160. The polyphenylene sulfide is mixed with 5-30wt.%, preferably 10-20wt.% of a poly-1,4-cyclohexanedimethylene terephthalate/isophthalate copolymer and subjected to melt spinning. The copolymerization ratio (weight ratio) in this copolymer is 95/5-70/30, preferably 95/5-80/20. |
