PURPOSE:To reduce the contamination of a thermal head and the roughening of a printing surface at the time of recording. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording material having a protective layer based on modified polyvinyl alcohol as the layer coming into contact with a thermal head at the time of thermal recording and at least one layer containing gelatin or a derivative thereof as a main binder as the layer other than the protecting layer is produced. The crosslinking agent of modified polyvinyl alcohol is added to the coating soln. of at least one layer containing gelatin or a derivative thereof as the main binder and at least the protecting layer and the layer containing crosslinking agent are applied substantially simultaneously. |
