PURPOSE:To decrease any speed change shock in the case of downshifting into an engine brake operating low speed stage by providing an oil pressure control means for making an engagement transient oil pressure lower in comparison with that in downshifting by a manual speed change means in the case downshifting by means of an automatic engine brake control means. CONSTITUTION:A pair of rotational speed sensors 80, 82 are arranged in an automatic transmission. Moreover, a neutral start switch 84 is arranged to an oil pressure control circuit 150, so as to detect the shift range capable of being switched by the operation of a shift layer, and a shift range signal SR for indicating the shift range is output to a transmission controlling computer 34. And the speed change stage of the automatic transmission 78 is switched and controlled by switching a solenoid into the excitation and non-excitation, and also an engine transient oil pressure of a clutch or a brake is controlled in shifting gear. Thereby, the engagement transient oil pressure is made low, so that the speed change shock is decreased, and the travel feeling is improved. |
