PRODUCTION OF DISAZO PIGMENT COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To produce the subject composition useful for obtaining a printing ink which gives a printed material excellent in adaptability to retorting by substituting a specified compound for a prescribed amount of the acetoacetanilide compound in the process for producing a disazo pigment wherein an acetoacetanilide compound is coupled with a tetrazo compound of 3,3'- dichlorobenzidine. CONSTITUTION:In the process for producing a disazo pigment by coupling an acetoacetanilie compound with a tetrazo compound of 3,3'-dichlorobenzidine or 3,3'-dimethozybenzidine, a prescribed amount of the acetoacetanilide compound is substituted by a compound of the formula (wherein X is a benzene or naphthalene ring which may be substituted by at least one lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, halogen or nitro; Y is a benzene or naphthalene ring which has at least one acid group selected from a carboxyl group and a sulfo group and which may be substituted by lower alkyl, etc.; and A is NHCO, CONH, SO2NH or NHSO2).
