The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for cutting a mineral wool web. The wool web (5) is cut by means of a cutting apparatus (8, 9, 10, 11) transversely with respect to the direction of motion of the wool web, while the wool web is fed forward on a conveyor (2). The cutting apparatus is mounted on a bridge (3) driven by means of a driving device (6, 7) in the direction of motion of the wool web (5) during the cutting in such a way that the motion of the cutting apparatus follows the speed of the wool web, whereby a perpendicular cut is effected across the whole width of the wool web. The invention relates also to an arrangement by such a cross cutting apparatus or a length cutting apparatus, alternatively, the arrangement comprising support elements (11) above and below the wool web (5), which support the cutting blade (9) of the cutting apparatus. |
