<p>PURPOSE:To extremely efficiently obtain the subject compound useful as a perfume, a freezer oil, etc., at a low temperature in a short time and at a low cost by reacting an olefin, carbon monoxide and an alcohol in the presence of hydrogen fluoride. CONSTITUTION:An olefin (e.g. propylene or butylene), carbon monoxide and an alcohol (e.g. methanol or ethanol) are reacted with each other in the presence of hydrogen fluoride. Preferably, the olefin is reacted with carbon monoxide in the hydrogen fluoride at 20-50 deg.C under a pressure of 10-80kg/cm<2>G and subsequently with the alcohol at 0-50 deg.C. The hydrogen fluoride and the alcohol are preferably used in amounts of 7-15 moles and 0.7-1.5 moles, respectively, per mole of the olefin.</p> |
