PURPOSE:To decrease shock to be generated in connection with the formation of a forward gear stage by providing an operation position detecting means for detecting the fact that a shift lever is operated and an engagement control means for starting the release of a second clutch element and the engagement of a third clutch element. CONSTITUTION:A high speed stage clutch C2 becomes in the half engaged state until a one-way clutch 102 arranged in series with a low speed stage brake B2 is completely engaged, that is, until the load torque of the one-way clutch 102 becomes negative, and the inertia torque to be generated during the engagement of a forward clutch C1 is absorbed by friction of the high speed stage clutch C2. Thereby the rising of the torque of a second output shaft 96, namely, the torque to be transmitted to a driving wheel 26 becomes relatively low, moreover the fluctuation of the torque becomes smooth. Moreover the fluctuation of the rotational speed of an engine 10 becomes also smooth. Accordingly, the shock to be generated in connection with the formation of a forward gear stage is decreased in squat control when a shift lever is operated. |
