PURPOSE:To obtain a denitrating agent performing removal of gaseous NOx at a high rate of denitration by carrying a metal to be carried on zeolite and firing this zeolite. CONSTITUTION:A zeolite such as X type zeolite contg. Na or Y type zeolite contg. Na is brought into contact with a soln. contg. a metal to be carried such as Ba or Ni, this metal is carried on the zeolite and this zeolite is fired at about >=500 deg.C. The surface activity of the metal carried zeolite is increased by the firing and the catalytic performance is enhanced. The resulting denitrating agent performs removal of gaseous NOx from exhaust gas, etc., at a high rate of denitration over a long period of time. |
