<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an immobilization apparatus capable of preventing the mechanical damages of cells, etc., on their immobilization and of reducing the complexity of the immobilization process by disposing the layer of a specific polymeric compound having a sol-gel transition temperature on a support. CONSTITUTION:The apparatus for immobilization is characterized by disposing the layer 2 of a polymeric compound, the polymeric compound being a one (a polyalkylene oxide block copolymer, an etherified cellulose, a chitosan derivative, etc.,) which is composed from plural blocks having a clouding point and hydrophilic blocks and an aqueous solution of which exhibits a sol-gel transition temperature. The aqueous solution of the polymeric compound exhibits a reversible sol state at a temperature lower than the sol-gel transition temperature, and can immobilize cells (or microorganisms) on the gel polymer layer 2C, when the dispersion of the cells (or microorganisms) 4 is poured in a medium 5 in a coated dish 3. The sol-gel transition temperature is preferably 4-40 deg.C.</p> |
