PURPOSE:To obtain a lubricating composition sustaining good lubricity between a calender roll and steel material without causing environmental deterioration of workplace, thus capable of preventing scorch between them, comprising each specific flux component and adhesive component. CONSTITUTION:This lubricating composition comprises a flux component vitrifiable through softening or melting by heat and (B) an adhesive component selected from (1) water-glass, (2) colloidal silica and (3) aluminum phosphate hydrates. It is preferable that the amounts of the components 1, 2 and 3 are 5-50wt.%, 5-60wt.% and 5-60wt.%, respectively, in terms of anhydrides, and the contents of the components 1 and 2 is pref 5-60wt.%. |
