PURPOSE:To effectively prevent the belt layers of a tire from swelling radially outwards without causing the deformation at the side parts and the like of the tire by a method wherein the green tire is cured by being vulcanized at the vulcanizing temperature lying within the specified temperature range. CONSTITUTION:At least two layers of belt layers 4 cords of which intersect with each other, are arranged. A green tire, in which belt reinforcing layers 5 and 6 prepared by arranging heat shrinkable cords substantially parallel to the peripheral direction of the tire in the region radially outwards the belt layers 4 at least both side regions of the belt layers 4, is cured by being vulcanized at the vulcanizing temperature ranging within 155-170 deg.C so as to obtain a pneumatic radial tire having the ratio of profile or the ratio of tire height H to the maximum breadth S of the tire of 0.20-0.50. Accordingly, the shrinkage factor of the heat shrinkable cords constituting the belt reinforcing layers 5 and 6 can be controlled and the deformation of the side parts and the like due to excessive shrinkage of the heat shrinkable cords are prevented from occurring. |
