PURPOSE: To provide a self-cooled cryogenic liquid pump used along with various types of cryogenic liquid and being simple and reliable. CONSTITUTION: A pump body 10 driven by a motor is detachably attached to a cryogenic liquid tank by making the pump body slide in a liquid sump 12 so as to selectively communicate with a tank 16. When a first check valve 24 is in an opened position, the liquid is transferred from the tank to the pump body before the liquid or gas is discharged via an outlet orifice 60, and when a second check valve 26 is in an opened position, a cooled air is made to flow from the top of the tank toward the rear end 28 of the pump body from which it is discharged outside via a sweeping/venting orifice 64.
