<p>PURPOSE:To provide production process for lettuce seedlings having resistance to bolting, when they are cultured, without damage to the adventitious buds during the culture. CONSTITUTION:The tissue of a part of lettuce is placed on the first culture medium 2 containing needed nutrients to induce callus (the first step), the induced callus is transferred into the second culture medium 5 containing needed nutrients to form adventitious buds 6 (the second step). The buds 6 are separated from the callus 3 and placed on the third culture medium 8 containing 0.01 to 0.05mg/l of benzyladenine to effect proliferation of the buds at 20 to 25 deg.C (the third step). Then, the proliferated buds 6 are allowed to root without transplanting at 10 to 20 deg.C to give lettuce seedlings the fourth step.</p> |
