PURPOSE: To provide a power transmission control device capable of controlling an off-going torque friction device according to the torque capacity of an on-coming friction device during a gear ratio changeover. CONSTITUTION: A transmission control device in the gear constitution part 14 of a multi-speed transmission is responsive to the thrust forces generated in gear members 41, 43, 58, 33 controlled by on-coming friction devices 36, 38, 40, 42 during a gear ratio changeover to generate a control signal. The control signal is used to start the disengagement of an off-going friction device. |
