PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material excellent in water resistance, oil resistance, sticking resistance and surface gloss by successively laminating a thermal color forming layer and a protective layer composed of a mixture of a specific silane compd. and a water dispersible polymer on a support. CONSTITUTION:A coating soln. prepared by dispersing a known leuco dye, a known coupler, other various necessary additives and auxiliary agents in a proper binder is applied to a support such as paper or a plastic film and the formed coating layer is dried to form a thermal color forming layer. Separately, a silane compd. A represented by formula (wherein R<1> is H, a lower alkyl group or an aryl group, R<2> is H or an acyl group, m is 0 or 1, n is 3 or 4 and m+n is 4) mixed with a water-soluble polymer B obtained by hydrolysis and condensation in an aq. solvent to prepare a coating compsn. which is, in turn, applied to the thermal color forming layer to laminate a protective layer. The wt. ratio A/B of the components A, B in the coating compsn. is 10-0.1 (the component A is converted to R<1>mSiO4-m/2 and the component B is converted to a solid). |
