PURPOSE:To obtain an urethane compound under mild conditions in high purity and yield without being accompanied by the production of by-product by effectively using dicarbonate which is a raw material. CONSTITUTION:A heterocyclic compound containing an amino group and containing a nitrogen atom as a hetero atom, e.g. ethyl-2-amino-4- thiazoleglyoxylate is made to react with a dicarbonate of the formula (R<1> is alkyl, alkenyl or aralkyl), e.g. di-tert.-butyldicarbonate at -20-80 deg.C, preferably 0-50 deg.C in an organic solvent in the presence of an aromatic tert. amine having an aromatic ring bonded through aliphatic tert. amine or alkylene, etc., to nitrogen atom (e.g. N,N,N',N'-tetramethylethylenediamine) to produce the urethane compound and then, the resultant reactional solution is mixed with poor solvent to crystallize the objective urethane compound. |
