PURPOSE:To form an image excellent in various durabilities, especially, abrasion resistance by a simple operation by successively providing a hot-melt ink layer and a transfer protecting layer on a base material film to form a thermal transfer film. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer film is obtained by successively forming a hot-melt ink layer 3 and a transfer protecting layer 3 on a base material film such as tissue paper or a plastic film. A release layer 4 is further provided on the base film 1 to facilitate the transfer of the hot-melt ink layer 2 and a transfer protecting layer 3. A provided rear surface heat-resistant layer 5 prevents the sticking of the thermal head of a printer and a primer layer 6 improves the adhesion of the release layer 4 to the base material film 1. Adhesive layers 7,7' improve the transfer properties of the hot-melt ink layer 2 and/or the transfer protecting layer 3. The ink for forming the hot-melt ink layer consists of a coloring agent and vehicle and, if necessary, various additives can be added to the ink. |
