PURPOSE:To effectively use a space without installing many steady device and to improve the grinding accuracy, especially the cylindricity without bad influence on grinding resistance due to large flexibility of a long work in the case of contouring grinding. CONSTITUTION:A grinding wheel spindle stock 2 and a table 3 on a bed 1 are guided in such a manner as to intersect perpendicularly to each other, a rest shoe 4 is laid on a position opposite to the grinding wheel spindle stock 2 on the bed 1, and the rest shoe 4 is capable of moving forward and backward at the time of plunge grinding and traverse grinding according to the change in diameter of a work W and brought into sliding contact with the work W grinding surface at the time of traverse grinding. |
