A wellbore cable comprises insulated conductor(s); a layer of inner armor wires (204, 206) surrounding the conductor and a layer of shaped strength members; and a polymeric material (208) in interstitial spaces formed between the inner armor wires and layer of shaped strength members, and interstitial spaces formed between the inner armor wire layer and conductor. The polymeric material forms a continuously bonded layer which separates and encapsulates the armor wires forming the inner armor wire layer.
