The invention provides a device intended to allow the scouring and cleaning of kitchen utensils, such as frying- pans, saucepans, etc. and also of equipment used such as irons, stoves, etc. The device proposed for this purpose is formed of an electric motor which can be fixed to the wall or supported on a surface, the drive shaft of which can receive the front end of a flexible shaft, of the type which comprises a sleeve (jacket) and a rotating core, which, via its opposite end, is fixed to a scourer of any kind or the like, allowing the work to be performed with rotary, to-and-fro or other movements, when the user handles it via its handle. <IMAGE>
