A case comprises a lid (4) which has a circumferential edge fitting (14) and is hingedly connected to the case rear side wall (2') which has an upper edge fitting (9). The edge fitting (14) of the lid (4), the free ends of which form a butt joint at the rear edge of the lid (4), has two vertical legs (20, 21) which are joined in their lower portion by means of a substantially circular-cylindrical first hinge portion (22) which is formed with slotted openings (17, 17) on both sides of the butt joint. The upper edge fitting (9) has a vertical flange (13), which just in front of the slotted openings (17, 17) has projecting tongues (11) and whose lower end portion is so bent round the first hinge portion (22) that the tongues (11) extend into the pertaining slotted opening (17, 17) for fixing the edge fitting (14) of the lid (4) in the longitudinal direction thereof, and that this lower end portion forms a second hinge portion (23) which, together with the first hinge portion (22), forms a hinge means for hingedly connecting the lid (4) to the rear side wall (2'). |
