Cycloid mechanism

A cycloid mechanism with a housing (1), a plurality of cycloid discs (3 to 6) which, on their outer circumference, have cycloid protrusions formed by a closed cycloid curve and, with their cycloid protrusions, engage in an associated internal gear (7, 8) fixed to the housing. An eccentric shaft (2) drives the cycloid discs. Two immediately adjacent cycloid discs (3, 4) are connected rigidly to one another and run on a common eccentric surface (10) of the eccentric shaft (2) but mesh with different internal gears (7, 8). The housing is divided into two parts (1a, 1b) designed to be rotatable relative to one another about the eccentric axis (A), one of the parts of the housing forming the output shaft and the other part the frame. Adjacent to each of the two central cycloid discs (3, 4), on an eccentric surface offset by 180 DEG relative to the first-mentioned eccentric surface (10), there is in each case a further cycloid disc (5, 6). Each additional cycloid disc (5, 6) has the same number of cycloid protrusions as the directly adjacent cycloid disc (3 and 4 respectively) and engages in its internal gear (7, 8). In this way, an extremely large number of transmission ratios and balancing of the revolving cycloid discs can be achieved (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
