With this method the spurious signal from the network is eliminated and the spurious signal from the end of the stator coil is sensed inside the measurement phase, both directly and with delay, and it is subsequently evaluated. The apparatus uses two sensors (4 and 5) of partial discharge located in the measurement phase. The input (41) of the first sensor (4) of partial discharge is connected to the terminal (9) of the measurement phase and its output is directly connected with one input of the differential amplifier (6). The input (51) of the second sensor (5) of partial discharge is connected up to the bus bar (10) of the network of the measurement phase and its output is connected to the second input of the differential amplifier (6) through a signal delay (8), whose delay period equals the period of passage of the spurious signal between the inputs (41) and (51) of the first and second sensors (4, 5) of partial discharge. Connected up to the output of the differential amplifier (6) is a partial discharge meter (7).<IMAGE>
