Continuous valve with a pilot-control piston and a main piston, the pilot-control piston preferably being pressure-centred in its neutral position by control chambers, preferably arranged symmetrically at its end faces, and by lines or passages from there to the corresponding end faces of the main control piston. The continuous valve is characterised in that there are defined cross-sections between A -> T and B -> T which remain constant over the entire stroke of the pilot-control piston, as a result of which the leakage to the control spaces in each position of the pilot-control piston can be discharged to the tank.
