The invention relates to a connection element for coupling a fluid line (4) to an essentially planar surface of a flange (8), having an annular piece (1) which exhibits at least one opening (3), which receives the fluid line (4), and at least one end surface (5, 12) assigned to the planar surface of the flange (8). In order to increase the process safety upon installation of such connection elements into assemblies, it is proposed to provide at least one clearance in the end surface (5, 12), in which clearance there is retained in a captive manner a sealing element (7, 11) which acts on the planar surface. <IMAGE>
