According to the invention, a drive station is provided in a device for drawing in webs of material, preferably in a paper-web drawing-in device in a web-fed rotary printing machine, the device having a drawing-in element. The drawing-in element has a roller chain (1) onto which a driving wheel (40) transmits force. Attached to the roller chain (1) is a drawing-in tip to which, in turn, the start of the web of material is attached. The drive station has a motor which is intended to drive the driving wheel (40) by means of a fluid medium. The motor is set in motion when the roller chain (1) running into the drive station switches on the inflow of fluid to the motor via a switch (2). The drive station is switched on and off by the switch (2), in that a switching valve is switched by means of a pilot valve, by means of which switching valve the fluid medium is fed to the motor.
