The device for piercing ear lobes is designed to avoid contamination of the people involved during repeated use and it has stud carrier means (20) for exchangeable earring studs (39) and keeper carrier means (50) for exchangeable keepers (57). With the aid of a spring gun (81), an earring stud is ejected out of the stud carrier (20) through the ear lobe and is received in a keeper. The gun is designed to receive and to position the stud carrier (20) and the keeper carrier (50). The stud carrier (20) is inserted between the ear and the barrel of the gun, and the keeper carrier (50) is inserted between the ear and the anvil (82) of the gun. <IMAGE>
