The comminution of tree trunks for further use is usually carried out on stationary machines. The process associated with this is complicated. A mobile technical appliance is therefore to be found which comminutes plant raw materials, such as, for example, non-usable residual wood, directly at the harvesting point in an integrated work step. For this purpose, the rollers (9, 10) of a harvester controlled by a base vehicle are designed as elements of a cutting assembly and are provided with a transversely directed feed.
