A ski boot is closed by a pivotable shaft rear part being pivoted forwards via a clamping device, which is supported in the heel region on the foot shell, and is fixed in a defined position in relation to the foot shell. Simultaneously with this, the shaft parts are clamped together via cable pulls or similar tension devices. The shaft rear part (6) is therefore, in the closed state, connected rigidly to the foot shell (1), and, via the tension effect in the interaction with the calf of the skier, the shaft front parts (2, 3) are also connected to the shaft rear part (6). It is therefore only necessary to actuate the clamping device (10) for opening and closing the ski boot. The cable or Bowden pulls (11, 12, 26) and the clamping device can be equipped with length-adjustable possibilities for adaptation to the proportions of the skier. <IMAGE>
