An imidazolylquinoxalinedione derivative, represented by general formula (I), useful as a glutamate receptor antagonist, a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and a pharmaceutical composition containing the same as the active ingredient, wherein R<1> represents hydrogen or lower alkyl; R<2> represents hydrogen or hydroxy; X represents -O-, -NR<4>- or -S(O)n-; R<4> represents hydrogen or lower alkyl; n represents 0, 1 or 2; A represents a direct bond or lower alkylene; and R<3> represents (1) lower alkyl, (2) carboxy, or (3) phenyl, cycloalkyl or mono- or bicyclic heterocyclic group wherein the heteroatom(s) is(are) N and/or S, each of which may be substituted. |
