<p>The two arms are connected to one another by a thrust bar so that when they execute a pendulum type movement a specific equal distance is maintained between the roller and brush lower edges irrespective of the arm positions. The roller lower edge rests on the work material and follows its thickness variations. The pendulum movement for pushing the roller against the material is produced with an air cylinder (15) which activates one of the arms. Air supply to the cylinder is controlled by a valve (21). The valve is in turn controlled by a photo cell (17) whose light beam (19) is broken when a material piece (14) passes with its fornt end, the light beam being restored when the rear material end has past. The adjust the operations at the workpiece ends, throttle valves (23,24) are used to regulate the piston speed, or alternatively a time relay (25) which delays the photo cell signal.
