PURPOSE:To automate copying by operating the size of a copy paper on a basis of an orginal size, which is obtained from an original detecting means, and a magnification when a picture area and the magnification are designated and displaying the copy paper size and a cassette size. CONSTITUTION:The surface of an original pressing plate 133 in the side facing an original platen 132 is paint black, and a CCD sensor 140 forms the reflected optical image from an original 131 through a lens 138 and reads the variable density of the picture. The output from the CCD sensor 140 is amplified by an amplifier 141 and is converted to a digital value by an A/D converter 142, and this digital value is compared with a standard value, and the variance due to the quantity of light and picture elements is corrected by a correcting circuit 143, and the picture is binarized to white or black by a binarization circuit 144. The reflected optical image is read on lines along the Y axis by picture elements of the CCD sensor 140, and scanning is performed in the direction of the X axis, and coordinates of the position of the first change from black to white and the position of the last change from white to black on every line in the Y axis direction are obtained in accordance with the binary signal. On a basis of these position detection signals, a controller for correct copies is operated. |
