A pressure sensor (19), provided on an autocooker (1), measures the pressure inside the latter and transmits it, without contact, to an electronic control and programming unit, which compares it with a time-dependent set value. The electronic unit controls, depending on the result of the comparison, electrically operated heating means (9) on which the autocooker (1) is placed. The pressure sensor (19) is advantageously built into the service valve (6) of the autocooker. An alphanumeric keypad (14) allows the programming of cooking regimes represented by a law for the variation of pressure versus time. <IMAGE>
