<p>The present invention relates to a rugged and inexpensive filing cabinet (10) constructed from thin, prefinished metal. All the component parts including the case envelope (12), case back (30), kickplate (44), drawers (88) and drawer supports (58) are designed to be cut from coils of metal. Ruggedness and strength are maintained, despite the relative thinness of the metal, because the corners and other potentially critical areas subjected to increased stress are reinforced with structural elements (84, 86) adhesively bonded in place.</p> |
