Process for producing mouldings by injection-moulding onto the back of sheet-like decorative material

The invention provides a process which injection-moulds thermoplastic material onto the back of decorative material of different textures and material properties in a continuous and fully automatic production process. In the process, the decorative material is peripherally clamped and stretched in a preforming and cutting device, subsequently preformed, as a result of the displacing with respect to each other of preforming core and preforming mould, and is subsequently punched out. In the preformed and peripherally clamped state, the decorative material is brought congruently to an injection mould and suitable gassing systems are used to injection-mould thermoplastic material onto all or part of the back surface of the said material.
