Apparatus for processing fish

A description is given of an auxiliary charging apparatus (3) on a processing machine for fish, which apparatus exhibits a conveyor which is provided with saddle-like supporting bodies (1) and is intended for receiving the trunks of fish, i.e. fish whose head has been removed and whose abdominal cavity has been opened from the ventral side. The auxiliary charging apparatus (3) comprises an auxilairy saddle (9) for the preliminary reception of each fish to be processed. The auxiliary saddle (9) can be directed into the path of the supporting bodies (1) and can be directed out of said path. The fish which is to be processed is positioned on the auxiliary saddle (9) with the tail directed in front and, by lowering, is received by a supporting body (1). In this arrangement, the lowering movement is controlled such that each fish is received on the supporting body (1) such that the leading horn (8) of the supporting body (1) does not come to bear at the abdominal-cavity end of the fish. <IMAGE>
