Selective power shedding system for use with a set of electric equipment (1, 2, 3) supplied with alternating current by the same line comprising at least one phase conductor (4) and one neutral conductor (5) coupled by means of an isolating transformer (8) to an upstream circuit including a main circuit breaker (7), the neutral conductor (5) thereby being capable of dynamic polarization in relation to earth (6). The set of electric equipment comprises equipment (1) mounted directly between the conductors (4, 5) and supplied by closure of the main circuit-breaker (7), and other elements (2, 3) with which are associated relays (10, 12). A guidance device (13) includes power shedding circuit breakers (15, 17) selectively inducing, on the neutral conductor (5), control signals which energize the relays (10, 12). Application, in particular, to public lighting facilities.
