Hydrophilicising agent

The invention relates to a hydrophilicising agent which consists of a combination of a polymeric cationic compound, a betainic compound and a sulpho betain sulphinate or sulpho betain sulphonate as main component which, from defined dilute aqueous solutions, self-exhausts onto the surface of the synthetic fibres as a complex and which is composed of abovementioned compounds in a molecular ratio of 1 : 1 : 0 to 1 : 1 : 1. The hydrophilic film formed on the fibre surface improves the performance characteristics of synthetic fibres for technical applications, especially in the case of acrylic reinforcing and process fibres for use in hydraulic binders.
