A method for out-of-furnace steel treatment on the plants of "ladle-furnace" type includes melt tapping from the furnace into the ladle, supplying of deoxidizing agents, manganesecontaining and slagforming materials into the ladle in the process of melt tapping, and blowing with the neutral gas. A composition for the direct alloying of steel with manganese is supplied as manganesecontaining material.
