<p>An ultrahigh pressure generating device wherein plunger chambers (4a, 4b, 4c) are formed on the rod side of single rod type hydraulic cylinders (7a, 7b, 7c), wherein first, second and standby boosters (1, 2, 3) for pressurizing under an ultrahigh pressure the water taken into said plunger chambers are connected in parallel to a water discharging line (9) via respective check valves (6a, 6b, 6c), wherein first, second and standby three-position selector valves (13, 14, 15) are interposed between said hydraulic cylinders (7a, 7b, 7c) of said respective boosters and first and second hydraulic pumps (11, 12) in such a manner as to reciprocate said respective hydraulic cylinders, and wherein valves (20, 21, 23, 22) are interposed on respective discharging lines (17, 18, 19, 16) connecting said respective three-position selector valves (13, 14, 15) with said first and second hydraulic pumps (11, 12) whereby said ultrahigh pressure generating device, although less expensive and smaller, can continue to operate even if sealing is damaged by using a standby single-acting cylinder.</p> |
