A seat-height adjusting device comprises, according to the invention, a lifting mechanism (W) which is attached to the frame of a vehicle seat and is intended for raising and lowering the seat height, and a handle arrangement (H) which is connected separately to the lifting mechanism (W) and is intended for manipulating the lifting mechanism (W). The handle arrangement (H) carries an operating mechanism (X) for operating the lifting mechanism (W), a locking mechanism (Y) for locking the operating mechanism (X) and a release mechanism (Z) for releasing the locked state of the operating mechanism (X). To repair the operating, locking and release mechanisms (X, Y, Z) the handle arrangement (H) may advantageously be separated from the lifting mechanism (W) so that the repair can be carried out without difficulty. <IMAGE>
