In a floating-calliper disc brake for motor vehicles, an outer brake lining (9) is held on the floating calliper (1), the tangential forces which occur during braking being transmitted initially to the floating calliper (1) and then indirectly, via a pin guide (5), to the stub axle of the vehicle. According to the invention, simple support for the outer brake lining (9) is provided by two supporting surfaces, lying opposite one another in the circumferential direction, on the floating calliper (1), these surfaces serving to accept the tangential forces, and by a fastening bolt (17), the fastening bolt (17), which is screwed firmly to the outer brake lining (9), being preloaded on the floating calliper (1) in the axial direction and mounted displaceably in the circumferential direction. <IMAGE>
