In the paper layer system for the optional production of a postcard, of a letter or of a product mailing, a letter or a postal article suitable as a product mailing can be produced before the initially "folded-open" postcard is written upon, by adding a text page. The text page can be written on on both sides. As a result, duplicates are produced for storage by the sender. After writing, the previously folded-open postcard - without the text page - is folded together to form the postcard. With a text page, folding-together produces a letter or a postal article which is suitable as a product mailing. The text pages, connected by their adhesive bonding closure, can be prepared as a block and easily peeled off individually therefrom.
